It sits on a gentle ridge in rolling Angus farmland, just to the East of the B954 road from Dundee to Newtyle.  The Wood is laced with a network of paths which lead from the public car park at the NW corner of the wood.

The Wood’s gnarled Scots Pines are home to a lively community of red squirrels and a wide range of birds, mammals, plants & fungi can all be seen.  Dronley Wood also commands magnificent views; to the North and West to the Sidlaws, and to the South and East out over the Firth of Tay to the North Sea.
